Dear Folks -
Here is a summary of the talk I gave in Ordinary Life this week.
I begin by paying homage to the insightful humor of George Carlin and use his comparison of football and baseball to introduce the notion of "coming home." This talk is an in-depth look at what it might mean to be "happy" or "blessed" in the sense that Jesus meant when he used it to introduce each of the Beatitudes. In essence what it means is to be "on the right track." If we "snuggle up to Truth" then we are blessed or happy no matter how it might appear in the outer world.

Dear Folks -
Those of you attending Dr. Kerley’s class in person or via the internet know that he is currently teaching about the revolutionary “Sermon on the Mount” from Matthew, and specifically the beatitudes.
As we have been hearing about the beatitudes, we naturally have questions about how to live them out when they are so alien to the way we live here in American culture.
Thank you to those present for your participation.
Much love,
Susanna Hooper

Dear Folks -
Here is a summary of the talk I gave in Ordinary Life this week.
I am using the Sermon on the Mount, because it begins with instructions on happiness, to amplify on the Ordinary Life principle that says we "have a moral obligation to be happy." This Ordinary Life talk explores more fully the meaning of two things:
First, who said the words of the Sermon of the Mount" and, second, what did he say?
The talk ends with the showing of a video that has swept the cyberspace world. There is a link that will allow you to see if. If you do take the four and a half minutes it takes to watch it, I guarantee two things: you will smile and your world will be expanded.
Much love,
Bill Kerley

Dear Folks -
We are anxious and live in an anxious time. During such times people look for something solid to stand on. Conventional wisdom says that, among other things, all we can count on is death and taxes. Conventional wisdom, however, will always mislead us. Jesus challenged conventional wisdom at the points of "family values," wealth and possessions, and social and religious recognition. All of this are said to be near and dear to us.
One of my beliefs is that we have "a moral obligation to be happy." What is happiness? Happiness comes when we work together to live in beauty, create a vital culture and strengthen our relationships. What we can count on is this: Who we are is who we are in God. Nothing more. Nothing less.
Much love,
Bill Kerley
