I am so glad you are here. I have been thinking about you all week.
I have been trying to visualize what it is like for me to stand here
and look at your faces. I want each and every one of you to know how
much I respect you - and appreciate you. I appreciate not only you but
also the fact that you trust me with yourself and your time. I am
grateful that all of us get to use this time and place as one of the
ways we work out our lives in our attempt to find meaning and guidance
for our lives.
Some years ago I came up with a line I began to use for myself and
then for those who sought me out as a teacher. The line is this: our
purpose in life is to be involved in the process of becoming centers of
freedom and love. This is something that no matter what else is going
on in our lives we can work on.
