I want to begin today with two quotes. One is from Elbert Hubbard You
probably never heard of him. He was born in 1856 in Bloomington, Illinois. He
became a prolific writer and the essence of his teaching to his students was selfreliance,
duty and perseverance to their lives. He died in the sinking of the
Lusitania in 1915. This is the line of his I want to begin - and end - with today.
"If your religion does not change you, then you should change your religion."
The other quote I want to offer to you is from Reinhold Niebuhr. Niebuhr is a
person whose name you may never heard of but who has had some influence on
your life nonetheless.
