WEEKLY PODCAST | In Between.101

Some years ago, in the “before times” (i.e. before covid) I said to Bill, “We should record our conversations and write a book.” I had in mind something like Tuesdays With Morrie in which Mitch Albom writes about his weekly visits with his mentor. (Wednesdays with William? Not quite snarky enough for Bill! Suggestions?) Anyhow these podcasts sometimes feel a bit like that, and perhaps someday they will make a book. We shall see!

This week we talk about being complicit with brokenness and what it means to live after resurrection, once we have “stood up into life.” We are always making choices, consciously and unconsciously, and when we make conscious choices about living lives of more freedom, justice, and love, we run the risk of being strange, of being seen as a stranger, if it is against what our communities and societies are doing. We run the risk of un-belonging in the moment, but I think, I hope, that we plant seeds for trees from which others can eat, that in our risk taking we create a greater sense of belonging for the whole.

There are a lot of threads to pick back up once we resume our podcast in three weeks when Bill returns form England, among them the importance of the feminine in Jesus’s ministry and teaching. Until then thanks for listening!
