Dear Folks -

The talk I offered in Ordinary Life this week had this title -

“Become What You Believe”

I am endeavoring to speak an evolving faith to and in an evolving world. And, to encourage us to have an “engaged faith.” Jim Hollis says in his most recent book, “Living An Examined Life,” that never in recorded history has there been such a mythological crisis. This talk is also my effort to elaborate on one of the statement/questions of Jesus - "Do you believe I can do this? Then, become what you believe.”

What does it mean to have faith? To trust? Why is it that so many people experience God as distant and/or punitive? Why is it that so many view having a spiritual practice as a burden and/or restrictive? In this talk I offer four definitions of faith in the hope that we will develop the ability and willingness to “see” things differently.

That is a very brief summary of the talk.

Bill Kerley
