Summary for August 30, 2020

Dear Folks -

As you likely know by now the webinar with Michael Morwood has been rescheduled to Thursday, September 10. This means that if you have not registered for this event, you still have time. In order to register for this event, click here.

This week we began our journey through the material that is called “The Sermon on the Mount.” The very first of the verses called “The Beatitudes” clearly states, “Blessed are the poor.” Matthew adds “in spirit.” In a country where money is the measure of so much and where there is such economic disparity, what does this mean? How can this saying be interpreted in a way that gives us guidance and sustenance during this time of pandemic and social unrest? One step we can take is one of humility in admitting that we are poverty stricken in terms of the moral values that undergird and guide both individuals and society in healthy ways.

That is a very brief summary of our time in Ordinary Life this week.

We called the time -

Doing More Than Rearranging the Deck Chairs on the Titanic:
Mending the Fabric of Society
