WEEKLY PODCAST | In Between.070

This week we have the distinct joy of podcasting with one of our dear friends, Dr. Matthew Russell. Matt reminds us that the return to the moment, the return to self, the return to spirit, is all about breath. It is interesting to note that spirare, Latin for breath, is so much like the word spirit. With every inhalation and exhalation we come to know spirit.

Matt and Bill share such a wonderful, laughter and depth filled relationship, and in we laughter find release from anxiety and trauma. Always it returns to the breath.

Matt is a co-cerative community builder, a pastor at Chapelwood UMC, a co-leader of Project Curate and Iconoclast Artists. He talks about the formation of self in relation to community. We cannot do this work alone and yet how we show up is entirely up to us. For him, adrienne marry brown’s work (lowercase intended) in Emergent Strategy is a source of inspiration in that she talks about individuals and communities becoming like fractals. If we can imagine and become at the small scale what we wish to see change at the large scale, then we can gradually change the world.

We are so grateful to and for Matt Russell. Thanks for joining us in this conversation.
