Summary of Ordinary Life for April 3, 2022

Dear Ones -
Two special announcements:
First, tonight, April 5, at 7 p.m. there will be a fundraising concert benefiting Ukrainian refugees. It is called "Music for Peace" and will be presented by the Apollo Chamber Players. I understand that our own Jeff Riley will also perform an original composition at the concert. There is no registration required for this and all donations will go directly toward humanitarian relief organizations. I plan to attend and hope you will as well.
Second, we have been asked to assist with food contributions for the singers of various St. Paul's choirs on Easter Sunday. Easter services are at eight, nine-thirty, and eleven. Traditionally a Sunday School class has provided buffet type brunch food for the choir members to refresh themselves with between services. If you are willing and able to make a food donation, please contact Pam Pool for details. Her e-mail address is pampool@me.com
Also be aware that next week we will hear from artist Richard Williams. He has gifted St. Paul's with original artwork depicting the "Stations of the Cross." This art will be a permanent installation at St. Paul's and can be seen in the lounge area right outside the choir room.
As for this week in Ordinary Life I called the material I presented -
Challenge Before Comfort
We are mostly unconscious about the fact that we start losing our freedom the moment we are born. The path to freedom begins when we recognize this and develop a willingness to move beyond the things our culture say that defines us. In the talk I raise this question: Do you have anything to do that is more important than deepening your capacity to love?
That’s a brief summary of the time in Ordinary Life this week.
