Richard Lederer, a wordsmith of the highest rank, has in one of his
books on language these words: "There once was a time when all people
believed in God and the church ruled. This time was called the Dark
Ages."
As I see it - and you understand that this is just my opinion - we
are at risk of being in the "dark ages" again.
There is, as you well know, divisiveness all around us - globally,
nationally and, sadly, among us here at St. Paul's. Much of this
divisiveness is due to religion and its worst offspring, righteousness.
