Dear Ones -

This week I offered what will be my last teaching based on the Grail Story. Robert Johnson says about this myth: “The most important event of one’s inner life is portrayed in the story of the Grail Castle.” That’s quite a statement!

One of the things that this myth teaches is that each one of us has a relationship with the Great Mystery which we can either honor or spurn. The “journey into wholeness” involves finding the courage to “go fishing” into ourselves and taking personal responsibility for what we find there. The questions at the heart of all wise and useful spiritual teachings are: who are we and what are we to do? Of course, these must first be answered individually. When we serve our True Selves, we serve the common good; and vice versa.

This talk also refers to the four male archetypes and how they function in our culture.

Working with this story can provide us clarity about the matters of security, guidance, wisdom, and power.

The audio version differs somewhat from the text I had in front of me.

That’s a brief summary of the talk.
