Dear Folks -
The way we learn anything involves some form of instruction and some form of practice. In the talk I offered in Ordinary Life this week I call these learning procedures “reading” and “ritual.”
My belief is that one of the primary purposes we have on this earth is to grow psychologically and spiritually. There is no way to do so without regularly being involved in some process of “reading and ritual.”
I apply this to how we can understand the story that were constructed by the early followers of Jesus to teach others about the meaning of his message and its applicability to their lives.
This talk is part of a series I am doing on going through “Holy Week.” My commitment is not only to increase religious literacy but also to show the relevancy of the story for here and now.
