If you attended Ordinary Life this week, you are aware we had technical difficulties showing the presentation slides. They can be accessed on the website.
The title I gave my talk is “Entering the House of Wisdom.”
Buried in the middle of one of the days of “the last week” is the most important of all Jesus’ teachings. If we hear this teaching through or with a “western” mind-set, we’ll never see its relevance for our psychological and spiritual growth.
Jesus was a wisdom teacher who sought to convey his wisdom by telling stories that “fried” people’s circuits so that they had no choice but to move to a higher level of awareness. To that end I closed this talk with a story about “what does a woman really want.” The story is a parable about what each person deeply and truly wants. When the truth of this story is honored, we are set free to live and love in braver, more honest and fuller ways.
