Dear Folks -

I am a amateur magician. Not a professional. Amateurs not only don’t get paid for doing what they love but also we look for easy ways to accomplish our goals. Many magic tricks are marketed for amateurs with the promise: “easy to do, no skill required.”

Western culture takes this approach to many matters, especially religious and psychological growth.

The primary teachings of Jesus - and these have many various implications - are non-violence and justice. Undertaking these things is not for amateurs. Skill, patience and persistence are required.

That’s the essence of the talk I offered in Ordinary Life this week.

 Be well!

Much love,
