Dear Folks -

I gave the talk I offered in Ordinary Life this week this title -

Grace in a Watershed Experience

The talk is based on one of the best non-dual teachings in Thomas. In the talk I said, and this is a summary of it, -

"Not only is the lower transformed into the higher. But also, the higher is simultaneously and totally assimilated into the lower! What is revealed is our own deepest and most authentic personhood. The mystic Christian says with Paul, 'It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me as my own deepest self.'

"I am clear that the Jesus of history was trying to create an ethical or sociopolitical revolution. To me there is no doubt about that. But that is not all he was trying to do. He was attempting to birth a fully divine human race, a race of beings as radically alive and aware as he was himself.

"Jesus was not among us to be worshipped but to be imitated. He did not want us to depend on him but to learn from him. His purpose was not to do something instead of us but to help us to understand what we can and indeed must do for ourselves. He did not want our praise but our practice.”

If you are reading this, I want you to know how grateful I am for and to you.

Be well and much love,
