Dear Folks -

I called the talk offered in Ordinary Life this week -

“Strung Along, Strung Out, Strung Up”

I have this very unrealistic wish that all of us could easily and thoroughly retain the information we have covered in the past two years or so. I also wish that we be clear that our work in spiritual growth means being faithful to a particular path over being loyal to some political position. As a song from the sixties has it, “what the world needs now is love” not more divisiveness.

Our culture, however, can both string us along with false hopes and we can get strung out trying to “make things happen” that are out of our control and beyond our ability. In order to live hopefully into the future we will likely have to die to some of illusions we have. I am thinking specifically of the things that separate us from each other. We are not called to be successful but to be faithful.

That is a very brief summary of the talk I offered this week in Ordinary Life.

You can read or download the text from which I spoke, view the presentation slides, listen to the audio of the talk and/or watch the video of the talk using the links below.

If you are reading this, I want you to know how grateful I am for and to you.

Be well and much love,

Bill Kerley
