SUNDAY LECTURE | What Good Is Prayer

ORDINARY LIFE - Thoughts and Ideas to Help You Live a Happier Life

Summary for January 31, 2020

Dear Folks -

Three things led us to talk about what we did in Ordinary Life this week:

First, the cultural context in which we live, one of chaos and anxiety for many - the virus, social unrest, divisiveness, etc.

Second, the text we have reached in going through the Sermon on the Mount.

Third, the fact that of one of the first questions asked when the implications of evolutionary cosmology strikes home.

What we began to talk about, and will continue next week, is this question:

What Good is Prayer

We approached it in a, hopefully, rather poetic and personal way this week. Next week, also hopefully, a more in-depth theological look.

That is a very brief summary of our time in Ordinary Life this week. This is one of those weeks were the text and the audio are different and where viewing the presentation slides is helpful.

You can find the text we had in front of us, the presentation slides and the audio version of the talk using the links below.

Also, be aware that we have instituted a weekly podcast. It is called “In Between.” You can access this through the Ordinary Life website.

If you are reading this, I want you to know how grateful I am for and to you.

Be well and much love,

Bill Kerley
