WEEKLY PODCAST | In Between.038

I don’t know how many of you remember our surprise celebration for Bill’s 80th birthday in 2017. If you feel like reminiscing, click HERE to listen. It was a fun time, and began with our friend Scott Wells, professional magician and OL attendee, working some magic as a gift to Bill. We know Bill loves magic (which he lovingly refers to as miracles), and if you’ve been following along with Ordinary Life, you know that both of us were deeply touched by “In and of Itself",” a film production of a live show available on Hulu. Today we talk shop with Scott, who not only performs an audio magic trick, but gives his insight on the show.

We were all three equally moved by the show, and still urge you to check it out. I got one text last week that said, “I am only 11 minutes into this thing, and I’m weeping, and I don’t even know why!” We noted that the magic is in the empathy and humanity, in realizing that we can all get out of our boxes and expand our identities.

Among other things we talk about continuity, vulnerability, the magic of spirituality. There is a really tender moment remembering a letter Scott found written by his wife before she died. Magic happens in so many ways…During our podcast, Scott was wearing a shirt that read: I don’t DO magic, I AM magic! He certainly is! How much fun to do this with Scott, who is kind, funny, and thoughtful. Check out his podcast The Magic Word, right HERE!

PS - Forgive some of the background noise! Recording at home has its perils!
