This week we have the good fortune of sitting down with Rev. Karyn Richards-Quan, who is simultaneously extremely thoughtful and delightful. Karyn is in part responsible for overseeing adult faith formation at St. Paul’s. She brings an incredible insight to her work, and she and Bill are apparently in competition for resident smart-aleck. In perusing the SPUMC website, I also just found out that we have the same poem among our favorites: Kindness by Naomi Shihab Nye. We dance around several topics, among them how both Bill and Karyn envision growing St. Pauls to stay relevant in addressing social and justice issues. Karyn has been active in organizing much of the response and study St. Paul’s continues to do around anti-racism. We are really lucky to have her on staff, and we just might encourage her to be a fixture in our podcast because she is a great conversationalist.
Several years ago, back when we could gather in person, she also delivered a talk to Ordinary Life. To hear it again, click HERE. Thanks so much for being with us this week.
