Summary of Ordinary Life for August 28, 2022

Dear Ones -

This week in Ordinary Life I began a new theme. It is -

Making Sacred the Sacred Journey

In this talk I speak about the origin and impact of the “god is dead” movement that began in the Sixties. The notion of a theistic, interventionist God is either dead or ought to die. It is not a bad thing for our understanding of God to be stripped of whiteness, maleness, exclusivity and the power structures that impede the expressions of compassion and justice that Jesus taught. Yet, we must still come to an understanding of why there is something rather than. nothing. Something bigger is part of us; we are called to connect and bring together, and a path has been chosen for us. We will not save what we do not love and we will not love what we do not experience as sacred.

That’s a brief summary of the talk.
