Dear Folks -

One persistent theme over the past two years in Ordinary Life is how evolutionary cosmology is causing us to rethink everything. The reality, which I believe more and more people see and embrace, is that we are each connected to all who are and all that is. This being the case, why is it that white supremacy seems to be on the increase rather than decrease? The very first declaration in the “Reclaiming Jesus” document speaks to this. The tribe in which we grow up constitutes a “field” that influences what we see. It usually doesn’t teach us how to see. Influenced by the headline news of our time, the shooting of Ahmaud Arbery, this is the topic Holly Hudley and I spoke to this week in Ordinary Life. We called the talk

Healing Spiritual Colorblindness

That is a very brief summary of what Holly and I talked about in Ordinary Life this week.

Again, because in this era of “staying at home,” traffic on the internet is intense. This causes difficulty at times with live streaming. I want you to know that we are doing everything on our end to insure this doesn’t interfere with your watching Ordinary Life.

As is usually the case, the audio version is better than the text. I include the text for those who want the quotes. Also, I think the presentation slides enhance the experience..

I am so grateful to our being able to continue to meet for Ordinary Life even if it is in a virtual setting. I miss seeing you face-to-face.

Holly Hudley and I will continue to co-teach and we will shape our conversations to fit and needs and concerns of our present context.
